About the Book

In a nearly wordless picture book, a bird-shaped lamp follows nighttime noises on an enchanting, nocturnal adventure that will encourage children to pay attention to the sounds all around them and to develop their powers of observation.

The whole family is in bed, and the house is now quiet. Or is it? Drip, drop. Creak, creak. Achoo! A curious bird, who happens to be a lamp, investigates.

Jeffrey Ebbeler's whimsical nocturnal fantasy, with only sound effects for a text, explores the world of sound as an endearing bird makes himself useful putting the home he shares with his humans in order.
